General Statement of JobUnder close supervision, maintains and repairs water and wastewater pumps as required to maintain operations. Assist Pump Mechanic II’s with mechanical and electrical repairs, preparation of maintenance records, etc. Performs chemical testing, changes NH3 and CL2 cylinders as required, takes readings, operates heavy equipment, and performs related activities.Minimum Training And ExperienceEducation: High school graduate or GEDExperience: One year of mechanical/electrical maintenance and repair experienceCertifications:Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s LicenseTrainee permit in Water Distribution and Wastewater CollectionPreferredNote:The City retains the right to determine equivalencies.Any certifications not possessed at hire, must be obtained before the employee is removed from probation in order to continue employment with the City.Physical RequirementsMust be physically able to operate a backhoe, dump truck, crane truck, vactor truck, a computer, and a variety of small tools. Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to twenty-five pounds of force frequently, and/or up to ten pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
