About This JobLSU Health New Orleans Division of Facility Services is seeking highly skilled applicants for the position of Electrician. The person applying for this position should possess two years of experience in the Electrical trades (such as Electrician’s helper).The starting rate is $19.67 per hour for this title with an additional $1 Longevity pay. Rate of Pay may be adjusted based on applicant’s’ qualifications.Duties And Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:performs preventive maintenance tasks on pumps, motors, control systems, electrical panels, electrical circuits, emergency power systems including automatic transfer switches, automatic doors and other electrical equipment and componentinstalls, maintains, alters, and repairs electrical wiring (underground and above ground), conduit (underground, exterior, and interior), external light fixtures and poles (parking lot, sidewalk, and building), interior light fixtures, power appliances, light machinery, electrical controls (switches, breakers, fuses, and panel boxes), transformers, motor starters, related switchgear and controls, outlets and all other related electrical circuits and equipment which also includes in-house renovationsperforms electrical-related demolition and construction work on minor projects as assigned throughout the entire campuspossesses the ability to properly and safely operate the following equipment: manlift, pipe threading machine, drill press, and other equipment used in daily tasks takes immediate action to personally stop unsafe acts if delay to inform supervisor may allow accident to occurassists other trades as neededPlease list all relevant work experience and education in the “Work History” section of your application, resumes will not be accepted, and experience not listed on application will not be considered which impacts your application and potential starting rate of pay.Comprehensive benefits are available to eligible employees and their dependents including health, life, dental, and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts; retirement plans; generous annual and sick leave; 14 paid holidays per year; and an employee health primary care clinic.
