Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Substation Superintendent to lead and manage field operations for substation construction and upgrade projects in Texas. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in substation construction, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of safety and quality standards. This role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities on-site, managing crews, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all specifications and safety regulations.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and coordinate all field activities related to substation construction, maintenance, and upgrades.Oversee daily operations on job sites, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely project execution.Lead, train, and mentor field crews, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and accountability.Ensure that construction activities are completed in compliance with safety standards, local codes, and industry regulations.Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring the quality and timeliness of their work.Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and resolve any obstacles that may arise.Maintain accurate documentation for all field activities, including daily reports, material tracking, and safety logs.Enforce strict safety practices and protocols on-site, conducting regular safety meetings and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.Provide leadership and direction for problem-solving, decision-making, and issue resolution during construction operations.Communicate effectively with project managers and clients to report on progress, milestones, and potential risks.Qualifications:5+ years of experience as a Substation Superintendent or in a similar role within the electrical construction industry.Extensive knowledge of substation construction processes, including high-voltage systems, equipment, and safety standards.Experience managing and supervising field crews, subcontractors, and vendors on large-scale projects.Strong understanding of safety regulations (OSHA, NESC, NEC) and experience enforcing safety standards on job sites.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings.Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues promptly and effectively.Must be willing to travel to job sites across Texas as required.Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.Benefits:Competitive salary and benefits package.Health, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.Paid time off and holiday pay.Opportunities for career advancement and growth within the company.A dynamic and supportive work environment.Travel reimbursement for job site visits.How to Apply: If you have the experience and skills required for this role and are eager to contribute to a growing and dynamic team, we encourage you to apply.Desired Skills and ExperienceSubstation, Construction, Foundation
