Title:Electrician HelperID:1551Location:Columbia, SCDepartment:ElectricalThe electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems in commercial, industrial and healthcare facilities.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAccurately install wire, conduit, panel boards, fixtures, devices, pre-fab assemblies, boxes, and breakers according to job specifications and NECDirectly work with other electricians and helpers as part of a teamInstall electrical distribution and automation equipment: switchgear, panels, transformers, PLC control cabinets and VFD’sProficient with circuitry of the trade to include power, control, and motor terminationsBend conduit by hand and with bendersCapable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipmentThese duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive and may change to meet the priorities and ongoing needs of the company.Qualifications And RequirementsTo perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Requires the ability to read and understand instructions, procedures, labels, and gaugesAccurately perform basic math calculations to include addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, and the use of measurementsAbility to communicate effectively (written, verbal and nonverbal)Requires self-motivation, organization, and prioritization managementProficient knowledge of OSHA standards and guidelinesHigh School Diploma or equivalent is required, but a technical degree or 1-3 years of experience or combination of education and/or experience is preferredPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb; lifts and carry up to 60 lbs, crawl, kneel, push and reach; use hands to fingers, handle, and feel.Work EnvironmentIn performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
