Job Title: Electromechanical Maintenance Technician – 2nd ShiftLocation: Columbia, SCJob Type: Full-TimePay Rate: $28 – $44/hour (based on experience)Shift: Second ShiftAbout The RoleWe are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance operations of a dynamic industrial facility specializing in the production and fabrication of pipe and related components. This is a multi-skilled role, with a strong emphasis on electrical/electronic troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, set up, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems and equipment supporting industrial production processes. Connect power supply wiring to machinery and connect cables and wires between equipment. Diagnose issues with motors, transformers, PLCs, lighting, and control systems using schematics, test equipment, and PLC programs. Replace defective electrical components including motors, relays, switches, sensors, wiring, and bearings. Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts per established schedules. Interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and diagrams to identify issues and execute maintenance and repairs accurately. Document all maintenance activities, work orders, and findings according to departmental standards. Provide support for plant retooling and project-based installations. Work collaboratively with mechanics and other technicians to meet overall maintenance goals. Adhere strictly to safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, and PPE policies. Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and interpret safety manuals, equipment schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams. Hands-on experience with diagnosing and repairing electrical malfunctions in motors, control systems, and production equipment. Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance practices. Comfortable with computer-based maintenance software and data entry. Proficient in using calipers, tape measures, and other measurement tools. Must pass electrical and mechanical aptitude testing as part of the hiring process. Willingness to work second shift hours, including occasional overtime or weekends. Preferred QualificationsElectrical/Mechanical Maintenance Certification. Experience with electro-hydraulic systems and industrial automation. Welding knowledge is a plus. Background in troubleshooting PLCs and advanced electrical controls. Physical RequirementsRegular use of hands for handling tools and parts. Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, crawling, and reaching. Occasional climbing and balancing. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Visual acuity to read schematics and perform detailed inspections.
