ApplyJob TypeFull-timeDescriptionWorkover Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled PDC Shop Technician to assemble and repair PDC bits in our growing business line.The PDC Shop Technician will be responsible for managing the assembly and repair of the drill bits in the PDC line of the WOS drill bit business unit. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in PDC cutter brazing, MIG welding, and hard facing and flame spray materials.Roles And ResponsibilitiesThe PDC Shop Technician will be responsible for performing all steps in the Assembly and Repair process including but not limited to:Incoming inspection of used PDC drill bits sent in for repairApplication and/or repair of hard facingPreparation and brazing of PDC cuttersUse of shop equipment including washing, sand blasting and OD grinding equipmentMIG welding of shank and crown sections (upper and lower sections)Final clean up, painting and boxing of completed PDC drill bits.Monitoring of shop supplies inventory and communication of needed materials to support productionRequirementsRequirements5+ years of PDC drill bit assembly and/or repair experienceProficiency in the application of hard facing and flame spray materials to PDC bitsExperience and technical knowledge of the PDC cutter brazing processExperience with MIG welding processes including the welding of PDC drill bitsExperience with the use of washing, sand blasting and OD grinding equipmentRigging and lifting experience including the use of crane and hoist equipmentExperience with operation of forklift/lift truck equipmentEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbout WOSWorkover Solutions, Inc. is a technology company servicing the oil and gas market.
