You will work closely with the program leadership and a wide spectrum of cross-departments to help build a team focused on solving hard problems and changing the industry forever. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the integration of various subsystems, leading the testing effort, and ensuring overall system performance meets the required specifications and standards. If you are interested in working in an extremely innovative and fast paced environment, where your work directly makes an impact and difference in the products that are fielded this a fantastic opportunity.What You’ll DoSupport the integration process of various subsystems, including sensors, navigation, propulsion, communication systems, autonomy software, and power systems, into a complete and fully functional AUVWork within a dynamic team of multidisciplinary engineers and specialists throughout the life of product design, integration, and test effortsSupport design and integration of AUV subsystems, components and payloads, including managing interfacesResponsible for the development, review, and execution of comprehensive test plans for development, integration, acceptance testingBuild, support and maintain a test and evaluation program that may be subject to Government test & evaluation standardsSupport day-to-day test operations for our products platforms, or subassemblies, including conducting pre-mission testing, launch and recovery, vehicle tasking, and data analysis both internal and customer facingResponsible for setting up, collecting and refining operational metricsSupport hands-on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of AUVs in the fieldAuthor and/or review detailed operational test reports to document the step-by-step execution of internal and customer facing efforts to test and evaluate the AUV platforms and new capabilitiesSupport local sea testing and operations, including multi-day offshore operationsSupport pre-mission and post-mission logistics required to successfully execute test operationsParticipate in design reviews, requirements analysis, and system verification planning to ensure compliance with project goals and industry standardCollaborate with external partners or customers in the integration and test phases, cataloging and addressing their requirements and ensuring successful integration of their payloads into the AUV and of the system into the overall mission lifecycleSupport the implementation and maintain processes for maintaining configuration control, version control, documentation and overall safety throughout the entire development and test cycle, including land and sea based efforts for extended hours as requiredAbility to travel as required for test planning and executionRequired QualificationsA genuine interest and 5+ years experience in systems engineering, integration, and testExperience generating TRRs, Test Plans, Test Procedures, and Test ReportsFamiliarity with concepts of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and control theoryExperience in field test and operationally focused environmentsKnowledge of electronics troubleshooting and ability to use basic test equipmentExperience with Linux and command line interfaces as well as software debuggingProficient in reading and understanding engineering drawings and specificationsExtremely organized and detail-orientedExcellent verbal & written communication skills (effective for broad audiences)A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative cultureAbility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security ClearanceHigh-ownership and a bias toward action – if you see a problem, you want to solve and fix itAbility to travel up to 40% of your time, with potential over 40% during key test campaigns/surgesPreferred QualificationsExperience operating and testing complex systems in a maritime environmentExperience integrating subsea sensors, underwater navigation, and communication systemDemonstrated experience with subsea operational procedures and equipmentProficiency in data analysis tools: Python, MATLAB, R, SQLExperience managing a test and evaluation programExperience in maritime offshore operationsUS Salary Range$142,000—$175,000 USDBenefitsThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
