Position Summary:The Onshore Survey Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, calibration, and integration of a wide range of subsea survey and positioning equipment. Operating primarily within a workshop environment, this role supports offshore operations by ensuring all equipment is maintained to high standards, fully functional, and ready for deployment.This position is ideal for experienced offshore Survey Technicians or Engineers looking to transition onshore while continuing to work hands-on with cutting-edge subsea technology.Key Responsibilities:Maintain, test, and repair a variety of offshore survey and positioning systems including:USBL / LBL systems (e.g., Sonardyne, Kongsberg)GNSS / INS positioning unitsMultibeam and single-beam echo soundersSub-bottom profilers, sidescan sonarsROV sensors and subsea electronicsPerform detailed diagnostics and troubleshooting of electronic and hydraulic components.Assemble and configure systems for integration with ROVs, AUVs, or vessel-deployed spreads.Assist with mobilization and demobilization of equipment for offshore projects.Complete service and calibration records, equipment logs, and technical documentation.Liaise with offshore personnel to support real-time technical needs and equipment performance.Ensure compliance with QHSE policies and promote safe working practices in the workshop.Support inventory and asset tracking systems, maintaining equipment readiness and availability.Required Qualifications and Experience:Previous offshore or onshore experience in survey, subsea, or ROV-related technical roles.Strong understanding of marine electronics, sensors, telemetry, and power systems.Practical knowledge of hydraulics, fiber optics, and subsea hardware is a strong advantage.Ability to read technical schematics and follow manufacturer manuals.Familiarity with calibration and configuration software from leading survey manufacturers.Comfortable using hand tools, test instruments, and workshop equipment.Desired Traits:Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational and time management abilities.A proactive and team-oriented approach.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technical environment.Certifications (Preferred but not Required):IPC Soldering CertificationOEM training (e.g., Sonardyne, Kongsberg, Applanix, Valeport)Electrical or Electronics Engineering diploma/degreeWhy Join Us?
